13 Narada Falls

This completely downhill hike (with a vehicle shuttle) passes three waterfalls and runs through the scenic Paradise and Nisqually River Valleys.

Start: Narada Falls Trailhead

Distance: 4.5-mile shuttle

Hiking time: 2–3 hours

Trail surface: Well maintained; stone steps to soft forest floor and rocky (at times slippery) river bed

Elevation loss: 2,044 feet

Best season: Early July through Sept

Nearest town: Ashford

Fees and permits: Vehicle or individual entry fee (seven days); annual entry pass available for purchase; wilderness camping permits free—reservations (for a fee) recommended

Finding the trailhead: Hiking this trail one-way requires a short two-car shuttle. From the Nisqually Entrance Station, drive 6.7 miles east on Longmire-Paradise Road to the Longmire Historic District on the right (south). Park one car here.

In the second vehicle, continue roughly 8 miles east on Longmire-Paradise Road and turn right (east) into the parking lot signed for Narada Falls. The Narada Falls Trail is on the far east side of the parking lot before the restrooms on the right (south). GPS: N46 46.512' / W121 44.762'
