My understanding of Thelema is very different from this. The Aeon of Horus is far more than a transition comparable to the shift from the ancient Roman pagan religions to that of Christianity. It is a collective shift in human consciousness as radical and complete as that of the development of language and of agriculture. It signifies the end of the religious era itself. No longer need people worship and propitiate deific principles to elevate themselves spiritually. As Kings of their world, of their universe, they can commune directly with the essential archetypes expressed by the old Gods and spirits and rule over them all as the superior beings they are. Each can be their own spiritual system, complete civilizations unto themselves. A society of such fulfilled and transcendent beings would be very different than what exists today anywhere in the world. It would mean the end of all political, religious, and economic power as we know it. The advance of technology will keep pace with the advancement of humanity as a whole, enabling the material sovereignty of the Thelemic individual that such would demand.
The powers that be wonât give in easily to this greatest, most fundamental shift in human consciousness and behavior. Theyâll fight it, tooth and nail, suppressing anything that threatens to bring forward this new Aeon on an overt mass scale. In fact, Thelema canât be spread like a religion. Itâs not like the enlightenment of Christ or Buddha. The human collective unconscious must grow to assimilate Thelema and so incarnate Thelemites in the physical world. It is a work of the generations, not proselytization. Freedom canât be imposed on people. They have to want it.
Enough of old Osirian romantic fantasies. We have a collective unconscious to transmute, done on a level that the foolish tyrants can never see. The future is ours, barring destruction by severe weather brought on by climate change. Enjoy the burning and freezing seasons and watch out for those tornadoes and hurricanes. Work that great magick to change magick itself. The vastness of outer space awaits, the ultimate in adaptive radiation. Thelemites can make the best of this leap in evolution, a leap beyond evolution to determine novel courses of development according to the True Will of the individual. Those of the cosmos will return to it.
