MAPLE PECAN CAKE

CAKE

1 cup plus 2 tbsp (255 g) unsalted butter, room temperature

2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour, divided

1½ cups (164 g) toasted chopped pecans, divided

2 tsp (9 g) baking powder

½ tsp salt

1 cup (120 ml) half-and-half, room temperature

1 tbsp (15 ml) vanilla extract

1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar

2 large eggs, room temperature

2 cups (480 ml) maple syrup, cold
