I woke up to an empty bed with a slight headache from the alcohol I’d consumed last night. I sat up and looked around. Did I dream of Quincy? Maybe it was one of those dreams that felt so real I believed it to be so. I stretched wearing only my bra and panties and went in the bathroom to use it, wash my face, and brush my teeth. I then sat back down on the bed wracking my brain trying to figure out if I dreamed of Quincy and me. I did have three cranberry and vodkas with not much on my stomach when two was my limit.

I laid back down and hugged my pillow and smelled his scent. I shot up. He was here. I got up, not bothering to put on a robe. I called his name and only silence greeted me. His door was left ajar and his bed hadn’t been slept in. I rushed back to my room to see if he left me a message. I found my phone on my desk. Only a text from Brent checking on me saying he heard about the shooting after he left to check on his car. I sent a quick text, only letting him know I was fine because he didn’t need to worry about me unnecessarily.

I replayed last night and how Quincy had gone through great lengths to get with me. I know last night affected him more than me but unfortunately gunplay at clubs happens. He must have changed his mind in the light of day. The least he could do was tell me instead of leaving me alone with no words. I grabbed my cell.
