Due to Shirazi’s short visit to Teheran, two experiments were performed on the same day on two “patients.”

The heart of the first “guinea pig” was silent for forty-five seconds before being brought back to life.

Rafael Shirazi eagerly kneeled at the survivor’s bed to hear his report:

“I remember, suddenly feeling like a mallet landed a tremendous blow on my chest, and at the same time, as if a firecracker had exploded over my forehead, blinding me.

Slowly, my sight returned. I noticed a long, narrow bright hallway. At first, I thought I was being transported from the operating room back to my bed, but the hallway got longer and longer, endless. I remember wanting to ask the orderly where we were going. I tried to look around but saw no one.

Then the hallway began to curve upwards, and I felt I was being swept into a chimney up to the sky. I looked up, at the end of the chimney I saw a great light. For a moment I was afraid that I might fall out of bed. I wanted to feel the mattress and the sheets I was lying on.

I reached out my hands, but they remained suspended in the air. I suddenly realized that I had nothing solid under me. I was floating in the air, being dragged and carried away by elevating forces I couldn’t understand.

The light above me grew brighter. It was a very special, powerful glow... but not blinding, like a great sun I could look straight at without closing my eyes.

That’s how I glided up and up... Then I noticed, at the center of the sun, something like a convex opening, a kind of gate or door covered by two flaps.

I was very close to the gate and the doors started opening. I really wanted to see what was behind the gate... But then the show was suddenly over... I woke up and found myself here again... in bed.”

Rafael Shirazi listened to the report with bated breath. He was severely disappointed to be shut out of the gate, along with the soaring soul.

He ordered the “procedure” to be performed immediately on the second “patient,” and this time... they were to wait ninety seconds before performing CPR.

The actions were carried out on Shirazi’s orders. After exactly ninety second, they attempted to restart the second guinea pig’s heart, but this time all resuscitation efforts were to no avail. They could not restore the cardiac rhythm, and the electrodes attached to the patient skull indicated brain death.
