The complaint fell on deaf ears however, and in the hands of Edgeworth David and Griffith Taylor the approach was strictly Davisian within the University at Sydney. Finally, Japan adopted the Davisian scheme under the influence of Yamasaki, who had travelled with Davis in Europe, and Tsujimura, both at Tokyo. Davis’ elementary textbooks on physical geography were translated into Japanese in 1930.
