The Passenger Ship Safety Certificate requires an Annual Renewal Survey

The Cargo Ship Safety Radio Certificate requires a Periodical Survey

The International Load Line Certificate requires an Annual Survey

The Cargo Ship Safety Equipment Certificate requires an Annual Survey. On either the second or third year this is replaced with a Periodical Survey.

The Cargo Ship Safety Construction Certificate, the International Certificate of Fitness for the Carriage of Liquefied Gases in Bulk, the International Certificate of Fitness for the Carriage of Dangerous Chemicals in Bulk, the International Oil Pollution Prevention Certificate, and the International Pollution Prevention Certificate for the Carriage of Noxious Liquid Substances in Bulk, all require Annual Surveys. On either the second or third year this is replaced with an Intermediate Survey
