The next day, Mrs. Moore knocks on the door, and Mom answers. Mrs. Moore asks, “Have you seen my gardening gloves by any chance?”

Mom replies, “No, Mrs. Moore, but let’s look under Spot’s favorite tree. I saw him coming from your direction with something in his mouth.” They find Spot sitting under the tree with Mrs. Moore’s gloves lying beside him.

While they are there, Mrs. Page walks to them and says, “I’ve been painting my back porch, and now, I can’t find one of my brushes. Oh, here it is under Spot’s tree.”
