CHAPTER SIX
It was going to be difficult, winning this game and not burning Nellyâs clothes off and taking him right where he stood, but damn. He was distracting.
After the toast, we gravitated toward the table for what was clearly the first course, but I held Nelly back. Iâd looked around the room, and there was very little time left for me to get the most out of him in terms of enjoying him playing his role.
âSay, Robin, would you tell me a bit about this painting?â I asked, walking up to a boring landscape that had probably gone for a lot at auction. Sometimes I was glad Trony didnât allow paintings into the house unless they had naked people in them.
âWell, I donât really knowââ
âOh, my,â I said and looked up. âIt would appear youâve stepped under a mistletoe branch.â
He frowned but followed my gaze. âGee. What coincidence.â
âAnd we have a deal, of course.â
My necromancer cocked his head. âYeah, I wonder; does that hold if there are no proper courses?â
Technically speaking, he had a point, but it wasnât like this was a deal heâd want to break. I was quite sure heâd enjoy a little bit of squirming and the freedom to let out his more stubborn self his role afforded him.
âI wonder if youâd really resist me if I dragged you to the powder room with me right this minute. Robin.â
The look he got gave me my answer. Mmm. Maybe I should drag him off, but I was the Devil. I couldnât very well break a holiday tradition. And the mistletoe was right above our heads.
âKiss the virgin already,â Trony said, her plate piled with a colorful selection of simple oven roasted vegetables and one broccoli stuffed puff pastry.
âCome here, Robin,â I said.
âThis is inappropriate,â he said. âI am grieving for my uncle, Count Lea, and you are being rude.â
Trony started munching down on her food while she watched. Being watched was a bit of a turn-on, but it would be even more of one if there were less clothes involved.
âRobin, if nothing else, traditions help us cope with unexpected losses. And you are not alone. All of us are here because Count Krampus meant something to us. Though why he hid you away in that convent of a school, I cannot fathom.â
Nelly rolled his eyes, but said, âWell, he wanted me pure, you know. I guess he really would have hated if, I donât know, Iâd lost my virginity to someone called Marc.â
Trony chuckled and I growled. Oh, here was my stubborn necromancer all right.
âI think it more likely he wanted to deny you the feel of a real man. With a real cock. Tell me, Robin, you know what a cock is, yes? You have been taught that much, or do they deny you biology class as well as one-on-one tutoring?â
Nelly sipped some more of his punch. âCock as in rooster, you mean? Do you have a rooster in your pants, Count Lea?â
Trony was trying hard not to let the food spill out of her mouth with laughter.
