“From the—” Mr. Franklin said. The pistols wavered in his hands. He tried again, “From the—” He looked all around the laboratory as if seeing it for the first time. Then, in a rather faint voice, he said, “I think perhaps I’d better sit down.”

Mr. Turner said, “I don’t believe it. It isn’t possible.”

“Ooh, there’s that word again,” said Joe. “Tell him, Professor Bullfinch. Anything is possible!”
