The dark aura

I remember one of the first things that one of my friends/ spiritual teachers taught me. It was that I had to look at people’s auras and sense whether I was to read for that person or not. She told me that if I saw a dark aura around someone or felt a very heavy feeling around the person’s energy I was not to read for them.

I listened to her at the time and thought on it for a while. It was not until sometime later that I asked her why I should not read someone with a very dark energy or aura. She told me that it would be incredibly draining for me to read someone like that.

This was very interesting for me to think about. I filed that information away and it wasn’t until a a few years later that I finally understood what she had meant.

It was during a normal day of readings in the local shop that I used to work out of that I came across my first client that had an incredibly dark aura and negative energy. I had read a few people that day and it was almost lunchtime when this client came in. She had booked in a few weeks prior so it was expected that I would read for her.

When this client came and sat down everything started off as usual. I began by introducing myself and explaining how I read. I looked at the woman and she was barely sitting on the chair. Her eyes were half closed and she had her long hair dangling over her face.

As I looked at her I could feel in the pit of my stomach a very sick feeling and a tightness that made me feel very uncomfortable. I was not to be swayed as I wanted to help this woman and she obviously wanted some information and help as she was there for a reading, or so I thought!

As I began to read for her, she started to interrupt everything I was saying. Her eyes would become intense and she would begin to talk quite aggressively over me. This woman was in her mid to late thirties and I was only in my early twenties.

When I told her what I was picking up around her psychically she began to get more agitated. It was then that I had remembered what my friend had taught me. I looked up at the woman and tried to see her aura, all the while still feeling sick in my stomach.

In her aura I felt a very thick dark smoky energy. This was not unexpected. The woman smelt of alcohol and strong cigarettes. This was a big learning lesson in my life. The first lesson was to listen to others who have experience, the second lesson was to listen to my guides and the third lesson was to protect myself and not let my ego think it is always right.
