As the group walks deeper into the cave, Emmitt asks something.

“What if there are dangerous animals in here?” Emmitt ponders, worriedly.

“I’ll fight them off with my bow and arrow for you, Emmitt.” Isabella answers.

“How noble of you, Isabella. Thank you.” Emmitt replies.

“You’re welcome, Emmitt.”

The group gets to the cave, and, luckily, there are no dangerous animals to be seen or heard.

Nona starts a fire and the group gathers around it, huddling for warmth. Isabella and Emmitt are nearly inseparable, and Luana stays a bit closer to Nona than she usually has on this journey.

“So, Emmitt, what was it really like living in Sunshire?” Luana asks.

“It was nice; living with my grandparents was a bit challenging at times, but I got through it. Once I met Celeste, though, things started going wrong. My grandparents were killed by the rabid elves, people started going missing, and that’s when I decided I would move to Lavenderia to live closer to Celeste. What’s it like in Rosiary, Isabella?” Emmitt asks, curiously.

“It’s nice. The castle, or should I say, manor, isn’t as big as the castle back in Hartreusia, but it’s still pretty big. We have a library like in Hartreusia’s castle, as well as a garden, where we grow our own vegetables. My mum and dad believe in hard work, so we grow the vegetables ourselves instead of letting the servants do that.”

“I see. What kinds of veggies do you grow?”

“All kinds: carrots, broccoli, asparagus, cucumbers, tomatoes, potatoes, green beans…anything you’d like, we can grow.”

“Wow. That’s amazing.”

“Thanks, Emmitt.”

“You’re welcome. So, Luana, how are you feeling about becoming queen soon?”

“I don’t believe I’m prepared for the job. After all the training my parents have put me through about running a kingdom and a country all at once, I don’t know if I’m really ready.”

“Well, you’ll have me, as well as your parents, by your side to help you through it. And, of course, you’ll have Isabella as your queen consort.” Nona says.

“Right.”

“Can I…can I tell you guys something?” Emmitt inquires.

“Of course, Emmitt. What’s up?” Nona asks.

“Well, the thing is, Celeste isn’t just the girl hellbent on revenge on you and Luana. She’s – she’s also the girl who spins the magic yarn.”

“You couldn’t have mentioned that to us earlier?!” Luana exclaims.

“I’m sorry. I just couldn’t bring myself to tell you all because I thought you wouldn’t need me anymore. After all, Nona did say you guys could use me as bait for Celeste.”

“I was joking, Emmitt. I would never use one of my friends as bait, no matter how much wrongdoing they’ve done. True friends don’t abandon each other, even when times are tough.”

“Thank you, Nona. It – it means a lot to me that you’d say that. So, what’s next for you? What will you do when you get back to the castle, Nona?”

“I’ll probably just go back to doing my original duties. Question: will Celeste willingly give us the magic yarn?”

“At this point, probably not. We’d have to take it from her, and probably distribute it ourselves.
