At the same time, remember that those original feelings were genuine. The joy of granting each other’s every wish was both real and deeply satisfying. A better balance between caring for your partner and taking care of yourself can bring back the joy you once knew, while allowing you to be more reasonable in your expectations of yourself and your partner.
