Design a controller for a new gaming console. What choices might you make if you expect users to have used existing consoles? What if you assume they have only played PC games? What if you assume they have only played mobile games? How do these different audiences change your design process for what your controller does, how it works, and how the audience knows how to use it?

Examples of internal skill include things like knowing how to defend the triple-word score space in Scrabble, where to use your fouls in basketball, or different character superpowers in an FPS like Overwatch. Games with a large amount of internal skill space may be intimidating for new players who feel they must learn a great deal just to play at a functional level. Much of game tutorialization and pacing is devoted to helping players develop their internal skill in a controlled way.
