All logs can be sent to a syslog or other centralized logging platform with an agent installed on Windows systems or natively on the Linux appliance.

To check the logs in the vCenter interface, browse to Home, then to Administration, then to System Logs to reach the screen shown in Figure 5.5. You can choose from a variety of logs, including the vCenter instance.

To set the level of logging verbosity, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to the top-level Administration menu item, and then select vCenter Server Settings. Choose Logging Options from the left-hand menu, and then choose from the drop-down menu as shown in Figure 5.6.
