The inner race produces two straight lines of the forward (solid line) and backward (broken line) frequencies given by Eq. (6.60). The intersections of the lines correspond to the resonance conditions, which yield the resonance curve shown in the lower middle of the figure. In this example, as the rotational speed increases, the forward and backward resonances due to the inner race, and the backward and forward resonances due to the outer race appear in this order in the same mode.
