Figs. 2.59a–c. The J wire is curved to prevent laceration of the lung and great vessels. Pull the J‐wire back into the introducer so the end is flush with the tip of the introducer. Insert the introducer into the hub of the catheter, and then push the J‐wire through the catheter into the thorax. Never let go of the wire.
