# Reboot the host #
#########################################################################
- name: Reboot this host if necessary and reboot extra variable is true
command: reboot
when: (check.stdout | regex_search('reboot will be required')) and
reboot == "true" and run == "true"
in this task we reboot the computer. execution of the playbook stops after that reboot so that i need to restart it. this time, because the updates have been installed, the power-off or reboot does not take place, and the next play is run.
Preparing the doUpdates.sh File
one of the tasks we created earlier copies the doupdates.sh bash program to the /root/
bin directory. we need to make a copy of that file available to our playbook so that it can
be copied.
Create the directory /root/ansible/updates/files and copy the doupdates.sh file into it.

Testing
there is a tool, yamllint,3 that we can install to check and verify the syntax of the playbook.
this tool can simplify the task of finding those errors before we try to execute the playbook. it can be installed from the Fedora repository:
[root@studentvm1 ~]# dnf install -y yamllint
make /root/ansible/updates the pwD. First, run yamllint and correct any problems it reports:
$ yamllint doUpdates.yml
run this playbook using this command, which does not perform the updates or reboot. it does
give us a way to check the validity of our work, especially the Yaml structure. Getting the
Yaml whitespace just right was the hardest part for me:
# ansible-playbook doUpdates.yml
PLAY [Play 1 - Install updates on studentvm1 - the Ansible hub]
