Chapter 7

Sienna

I screamed until my throat was raw.

I tugged until I could feel the straps of this contraption digging into my flesh.

I shook my head to try and get the blindfold off until I was dizzy.

But nothing worked.

And now here I am. Whimpering, scared and pissed, and yet still somehow unbelievably turned on.

Pissed.

And did I mention hot and bothered?

I can’t believe I let him talk me into this. I guess it wasn’t really talking. It was pretty much forced on me, but I did have a choice.

I didn’t have to follow him out of that club. I didn’t have to come tonight. I should have known meeting up with him would lead to something that I shouldn’t be doing, but I would have never imagined that it would have led to this. Being tied on a spinning contraption and blindfolded so I don’t even know what the room I’m in looks like. Where I am isn’t my first worry right now, though.

Where he is, however, is.

It’s been dead silent in here since the door closed. What feels like eons ago was probably more like an hour, but it’s hard to tell time when your world’s been blacked out and you can’t move.

“Hello?” I call out. “I have to pee!” I scream.

I’m met with complete silence. I’d hear his breathing if he were here, right? I’d have heard something. A man can’t sit in a room and listen to a woman crying for an entire hour without being an animal.

And Trigger’s a lot of things, but he’s not an animal like that.

The first noise I hear since he left rings through the room, echoing off the walls and making my heart rate spike. Loud. Sharp. And quick.

Almost like a gunshot.

“Help!” I scream. “Someone help me!” I just want down from here!

Another two shots fire out and I go from trying to break free to trying not to be caught. There’s literally someone outside shooting people! Fuck. Where the hell am I? What the hell has he gotten me into?!

With my body trembling, I stay as quiet as I can, praying no one heard me screaming and comes looking.

Finding a naked woman attached to a spinning wheel would be like hitting the jackpot to some of those thugs.

Minutes later I hear the police sirens and know I need to start calling out.

I know I need down off this thing.

I know I need saved.

…but I stay quiet.

Through the multiple sirens I hear and the many voices, I stay silent. Because if they find me here, they’ll find out about Trigger. They’ll arrest him, I’m sure of it.

And while I’m pissed, I’m not that mad.

I’d do anything to keep him out of trouble. Always have. Always will.

***

“Trigger, what the hell happened to you?” My hand moves for the black and blue bruising on his face that’s covered with blood but he doesn’t say anything. He pops the lights on, marches for the freezer to grab an ice pack, then plants himself at the kitchen table.
