4 Separated Override

Context

A control system for a machine or for an industrial process is being developed. The Separated Safety pattern has been applied so that the control system functionality has been divided into two separate systems: a control system and a safety system. The separation between safety and control systems is followed strictly to, for instance, enable an easier certification process. The separated systems may in some places control the same functionalities or process variables.
