Blue

I got off pretty easy over the incident with Trixie last night. I’m still not sure why it was my fault but Rainy thought so. As her mate I would learn to adjust to her way of thinking. I was fixing breakfast for my mate. We worked up quite an appetite this morning. Because of that I didn’t check my emails earlier. I left Rainy to eat while I went to my home office. I pulled up my emails finding several of interest. The first one I checked was from my buddy, Doyle. He was a private detective I used for any research the pack might need. He had my information about Rainy’s ex. Augustus Percival the IV was the son of a pack alpha from New Jersey. He had made his intent to mate a white wolf, any white wolf, clear to anyone that cared to listen. He aggressively pursued Rainy hiding his intent. When she somehow found out what he really wanted, she dumped him. He continued to contact her until she finally ran. When she ran, she came here. No matter how big an asshole this guy was, he was the only reason Rainy was now mine. If I ever saw him, I would thank him before I tore his throat out.

Her view on wolves in general now made perfect sense. I knew she loved me. She wouldn’t have mated with me if she didn’t. It still might take me some time to show her I would love and cherish her forever. I didn’t want her because she was a white wolf. It would have been easier if she had been just an ordinary wolf. I wanted her just because she was Rainy. That was who I had fallen for. I was done here for now. I took Rainy to the bar. We weren’t there very long before she needed to go. She felt another morph trying to come on. I took her to a grove of trees a mile from the bar. She tried to picture her wolf while I held her. I could feel the magic of the change trying to take place. I tried to keep her relaxed as I held her. I felt her body heave and jerk rapidly. I hoped this time it would complete. It didn’t. It did leave a little more fur which seemed to bother Rainy even though I assured her it would go away once the morph was complete. I could tell she was tired, so I decided to take her home.

By the time we got home she was asleep in the front seat. I carried her in and put her to bed. I guess she was even more tired than I thought. Once her change was complete, we would have a formal mating ceremony. Everyone in my pack would know she was my mate. She would take her place at my side as alpha of the pack. I wasn’t waiting because I wanted her to be wolf before I claimed her to the world.
