I hope you are having a fine time with all your friends. No, that’s a wicked lie. I don’t hope it. I hope you are miserable and missing me as sorely as I am missing you. According to Mrs MacLeod, I’m a big useless lump without you and I cannot say I disagree. My bed is cold and I’m a trial to everyone I encounter. I won’t be the least bit surprised if you receive a letter from everyone at Wildsyde begging you to come back home and tame the bad-tempered brute who prowls about the castle once again.

I suppose I must give your aunt my regards, and your friends too. I shall count the minutes until you return to me, mo leannan.
