“Dusty?” Cherry called, appearing at the top of the stairs. “Did I miss it?”

“Yes. Sorry. She just left.”

“How was she?”

“Very good,” Dusty told her, smitten. “She’s proficient at giving wet services.”

“Oh?”

“Mmm hmm.”

“Won’t the members love that?”

“Definitely. I hired her. She’s into the orgy.”

“Thank goodness.” Brewing a K-cup, Cherry gave a look of relief to Dusty. “Are you done with the auditions?”

Dusty exhaled, glad to be done with the stressful process. “For now. We have three new dancers all primed and ready for the orgy next week.”

“I’m relieved.”

“Me, too.”

Mixing cream into her hot coffee, Cherry made a confession. “I got a call from Minx.”

“Is everything okay?”

“Yes.” Sipping, she paused before answering. “She asked about Daphne. And Shayna.”

Dusty studied Cherry’s tension, aware of how uncomfortable she was with a lack of autonomy. “Well, since we’re out in the open over her involvement, I’ll tell you they both mentioned being referred by her.”

“Did they say anything else about her?”

“Nothing negative. Both Shayna and Daphne seemed to have respect for her.” Dusty handed Cherry their signed paperwork for review. “Daphne really wants to be selected for the yacht events.”

“I can let Minx know.” Cherry gazed at the glossy 8x10 professional photos of her two new hires.

Intrigued, Dusty asked, “How’s that planning going? It feels weird not being involved.”

“I miss you, too, Dusty.” Cherry rubbed her shoulder. “How was it working without me?”

“Strange at first, perhaps a little clumsy,” Dusty admitted, “but, overall, I did okay.”

“Good to hear.”

Cherry took her coffee back to her office without offering more conversation. Her mind obviously elsewhere, Dusty didn’t disturb Cherry’s flow. Instead, she took the rest of the afternoon off, sequestering in her bedroom with lusty fantasies about Daphne.
