Chapter 10

Cannon could hardly contain himself. Did he hear her right?

“You said you liked me blunt,” she moaned, licking a trail from his chin to his ear. “I don’t know how much more blunt I can be, mate.”

That was it. The one word that could spur his Wolf into action. The little minx knew it too.

She yelped then giggled as he sprang off the chair, racing through the house, careful not to upset the garland on the banister and the Father Christmas statue at the top of the stairs.

The second he entered her tidy little bedroom, Cannon dropped her on the bed. He winced, but she simply grinned, already shrugging out of her clothes. He forgot his mate was all Wolf.

Heart pounding, he was grateful for the shower he’d grabbed at the hospital after his first exam. He’d had mud all over him from the game and could not stand it another minute. At the time, it had hurt like fuck, but he was glad he’d endured the stinging flow of the shower’s hard pressured water now.

“Gorgeous,” he whispered reverently as he watched more and more of her tawny gold skin revealed with each item of clothing she discarded.

This was no striptease, no practiced display, and to him, that made her all the more beautiful. Eira’s dove gray eyes glowed silver with her beast, her she-Wolf egging him on as only another dual-natured creature could.

He tore his shirt off his head, crouching down over her as she pushed her pants off with her feet. Her lips reached his eagerly, and fucking hell, she wasn’t wearing any panties.

Completely nude and unashamed, the female was everything he’d ever imagined his mate could be, and so much more. She tugged him closer, sliding her tongue into his mouth, and kissing him with all her spicy citrus sweetness bursting on his tongue.

Grrrrrrr.

His Wolf snarled and snapped at him to claim her already, but Cannon was not about to rush this. He’d been waiting a lifetime to meet her, there was no way he wasn’t going to enjoy every single second.

“Your skin is so soft,” he whispered. “And you taste so damn good, Doc. I want more,” he growled and slid down her silky body, licking and tasting her warm, smooth skin along the way.

Her breasts were perfect, tip- tilted and enough to fill his hands. Her dusky nipples were hard, begging for attention, so he gave it. Sucking one into his mouth, while his fingers twisted and tugged the other.

“OH fuck,” Eira moaned, head back and eyes wide. “You know, I’m not very, that is, um, I’m not good at this part,” she confessed, eyes bright with emotion.

Cannon lifted himself up and kissed her mouth. Taking his time to rouse her desires before he broke contact.

“I don’t know who told you that line of bullshit, Doc, but you’re already fucking fantastic, and I promise I won’t stop until you believe it too,” he vowed, slamming his mouth hard against hers.

Eira groaned, grabbing his hair with her hands.
