Chapter Seven
âIâVE GOT TO stay here overnight, Kim. The dealâs almost in the bag, but weâve a few more ends to tidy up, and by the time weâre through itâll be too late to leave. Iâll be with you lunchtime tomorrow. Maybe we can spend the afternoon together. Sorry about this.â
Oliverâs voice sounded tinny as Kim listened to the recorded phone message. Her first reaction was one of relief. She was glad he wouldnât be there until the next day, convinced she bore the imprint of Jackâs hand on her flesh. The second reaction was one of distress. Never before had she been anything but disappointed if Oliver was delayed. Now guilt had made a traitor of her.
The lounge was comfortable, tastefully lit by wall-lights, and the table lamp â a slender woman holding an opalescent globe â was a sign of gracious living. It was comfort indeed.
Just for a moment, Kim was back in the crypt. Had she become one of those lost things who had nowhere else to sleep but in squalid hell-holes? With a start, she held her hands out in front of her, but they were pale and clean, the oval nails lacquered a deep peach. She didnât smell of dirt and disease, only of Jackâs come, and her own juices. This was bad enough. She stood up and began to pace the carpet restlessly.
Should she ring Oliver? He would be expecting it. Normally, thereâd be no question about her wanting to share the events of the day with him. But not tonight.
The evening yawned ahead. What should she do? Usually, she would have enjoyed her own company. She had the latest Discworld novel to read. There was one of her favourite soaps on the box, and the première of a film. But none of these appealed. It was that dead hour of six oâclock; too early for dinner, too late for tea.
Jenny popped her head round the door. âI thought I heard you come in. Iâve had a word with Liam and he thinks a wedding here would be great. Thanks so much, Mrs Buckley.â
âThatâs settled, then. Something to look forward to. I havenât told Oliver yet. Heâs away tonight, but Iâll phone him later. Iâm sure heâll be as chuffed as I am.â
âIf youâre quite sure itâll be all right?â Jenny said uncertainly.
âOf course it will. Donât worry any more and donât bother about dinner. Iâll have a snack in the conservatory.â
Damn all men! Kim thought gloomily, going up to her room, pulling off her clothes and pivoting round to examine her bottom in the mirror. It was most definitely red. What can I tell Oliver if it hasnât faded by tomorrow? She panicked. Yet heat crept through her body as her lustful pussy begged for caressing fingers. She remembered everything that had taken place in the crypt. She wanted to grip Jackâs erection, sucking it inside her until he shot his seed.
Whatâs happening to me? she thought, alarmed. Iâm turning into some sort of sex-mad nympho! Her heart leapt into her mouth when the phone bleeped.
