“Do you feel your life draining away?” asked Brainiac. “It will all be over soon.”

A light on the wall began to blink rapidly.

“Ahh,” said Brainiac. “The city of Metropolis is now completely shrunk. I’m sorry you won’t be around to see it, Superman. Metropolis will make a fine addition to my collection. Perhaps I will put it next to Kandor. The twin cities of Superman. The two planets that saw his birth . . . and his death!”

Superman fell to his knees. His last thoughts were of Metropolis. He would never see Lois or Jimmy again. They would be shrunk to microscopic size within the tiny city. They would be trapped there forever.
