EPOCH II: DEATH OF A PLANET
CHAPTER 7
THE DRONE ON THE THRONE CLONES AND HONES!
Some civilized see others as brutal and savage.
Yet âcivilizationâ needs but slight
changes to beget âevil nation.â
Remove the third âiâ and flip the first one on the cee,
and again, ninety degrees, counterclockwise, turn the zee.
AFTER THE REBELS escaped, the BUG secret police wanted to chase them through the wormhole to Bilaluna to bring them back to justice for treason.
Chief Bugthug sharpened his fangs and shouted out his desired plan, âWeâll march through the portal and hunt âem down. Weâll catch âem, try âem and eat âem clowns.â My boys will track âem down.
Antilla assumed the traitors had perished in the wormhole and did not want to lose any of his precious BUG secret police to such a death trap. He also did not want others to discover the portal.
Bugthug tried to further his case with Antilla, âEmperor, my troops are hungry for more victims. If we canât go after the defectors, some will starve.â Give us a break.
Antilla smiled, âDonât worry, Bugthug, Iâm sure youâll find more rebels hiding under rocks or underground. Before long, there will be many to sate your hunger.â
Bugthug did a double-take. âEmperor, you are making me drool. What are you planning?â Donât keep me in suspense!
Antilla turned to walk away but secreted a spiky scent. âNowâs not the time, but there are too many chi cluttering up the planet. And I donât trust any of them.â
âWeâll be ready when you are,â Bugthug promised. Iâll do whatever you ask, especially if it means killing insects and making them suffer first.
Antilla looked back at Bugthug. âAs for Antianna and her gang, I want everyone to forget them. Having disappeared off the face of Poo-ponic, everyone will assume we massacred them. So, theyâll fear us even more.â
âIf we bring them back and put their heads on stakes, wouldnât that scare them more?â asked the drooling Bugthug. Iâm craving the taste of hemolymph.
Antilla stamped one of his tripods. âNo, I donât want them remembered as heroes. Dead or alive, theyâre all just zeroes.â
âOkay, Emperor, you know whatâs best,â responded Bugthug, squelching his urges.
