Into the Mine!

‘You are HERE! We thought you had PERISHED!’ said Ms Dazzleflank the Drama teacher as Mira, Jake, Dave and Pegasus emerged from the woods. She swooned dramatically on to a pile of leaves. Her unicorn, Shakespeare, fanned her with his hoof.

‘Are you okay, Ms Dazzleflank?’ said Freya.

‘Has SHE perished?’ said Tamsin.

‘Now they’re here can we go in and make a GLITTERBALL?’ said Darcy.

‘Did you guys get lost?’ asked Raheem.

‘Dave did two giant poos and it took AGES to scoop them up,’ said Jake.

‘I said it would be poo-related!’ said Seb.

‘I said you’d probably been eaten by bats,’ said Flo.

‘Glitterball?’ said Darcy.

‘Right, Classes Red and Yellow!’ said Ms Dazzleflank. She’d got up from her swoon and was looking at her watch. ‘The ancient treasure hunting ways are unfettered by the sands of time . . . However, you are starting late so you will need to be quick.’ The teacher took in a deep breath. ‘I will now mime the activity.’

They all watched as Ms Dazzleflank first whirled her arms in circles, then did large skips around the clearing, and then flung her hands in random directions, like she was swatting invisible flies. She froze for a moment or two, and then she took a bow.
