Now she was happy again.

Her imaginings now seemed lurid and foolish, and she wondered how she could have let herself become so childish as to believe, even momentarily, in the supernatural. Yes, Myles was different. He was changing his whole life—who wouldn’t be different? Oddly, she didn’t mind the change. Switching back to the piano was an enormous gamble, but somehow she felt it was a gamble he was going to win. She still didn’t understand how he had become so good, but the fact remained he was. He was full of enthusiasm and drive. He was happier than she’d ever seen him. If the piano was what he really wanted, then she didn’t care if he gave up his writing. Ultimately, all she wanted was his happiness and his love.
