If your choices have caused you brokenness, there is always hope.

Yes, there will be hard lessons to be learned as God gently restores your heart. Don’t rush that process. No quick apologies so you can move on. Let God take you to the source or root of that temptation.

As you learn, don’t rush others who are processing things at their own rate. If your sin has hurt others, those individuals may or may not be ready to accept the fact that you are healing. That’s okay. Your healing isn’t dependent on others. You may have to work over time to regain people’s trust. Even if you don’t, you’ve taken a significant step forward.

If temptation still beckons, strip away the mask of that temptation. It’s not about a guy or a feeling or the reward you might think is on the other side. Go past the feelings and weigh the cost. Share your secret struggle with someone whose life reflects Christ, and who desires the best for you. If the enemy still tries to sell you a lie, hold out for God’s best, rather than the devil’s worst. If the enemy tells you to isolate yourself or hide in shame, remind him that you aren’t alone in this battle:
