A motorcycle engine roared to life. Batman saw Joe Chill race down the alley on the back of a sports bike.

Chill looked back and fired again. He knew it would be almost impossible to hit his target while moving on a bike. Instead, he was hoping to slow Batman down. But the Caped Crusader easily dodged out of the way of the bullet.

Batman hated guns. He had vowed never to use one since that was how his parents had been killed. Instead, he used other weapons. Right now he had only seconds before Chill’s bike got too far away. He reached into his belt and pulled out a Batarang. With a movement he had practiced over and over, Batman flipped the metal object at the bike.
