11 - Zoe and Beachy, Sold

Zoe woke up the next morning in Beachy’s arms, her roommate, her lover, and most importantly, her sister slave on the New Confederacy Deck of the Cruise du Kinque. So far, they had done everything together, including being collared, auctioned, bought by the Athens Club, trained in the fine art of fellatio, and finally, allowed to be with each other.

It had been a heady few days.

The prospect of a full day with Beachy in a relatively comfortable bed and room–officially, it was a stall in the Athens Club’s stable but nothing about the space seemed remotely reminiscent of a place where horses might be kept–after spending the first few nights in a decidedly uncomfortable metal cage, felt like a real vacation, which this cruise was for most of her fellow passengers but was work for Zoe. As the lead reporter and host of Sinflix Tonight, a talk show on the new streaming service, Zoe was spending the week as a slave for the benefit of her viewers, at the network’s request, which was functionally an order.

“Morning,” Beachy whispered, her eyes only half open. “Did you sleep as well as I did?”

“I did.” Zoe hesitated for just a moment before she kissed Beachy. A few days ago, she only knew of this woman from her role as Grace Rooney, the heroine of the movie, Slave of the New Confederacy, made from the book that inspired this entire world. Zoe continued to marvel at the swift and sudden changes brought about by her presence on the ship, from talk show host to pretend slave and lesbian lover. She was so new to this and felt like the submissive partner of the younger woman who was so much more experienced in this sort of thing, even if Beachy had been waiting tables a mere six months ago. “You?”

“Like a dream,” Beachy said with a smile and a luxurious yawn, after which she kissed Zoe back, a sexy, sensual kiss that Zoe thoroughly enjoyed but wondered about, too. She was well aware that this was a relationship of convenience and that the young movie star already had a live-in girlfriend and a porn-star boyfriend, both of whom were Beachy’s business partners, not to mention, gorgeous, sexy as hell and ready to reclaim her as soon as the cruise ended. To think there was anything to that kiss beyond a spur of the moment need to be intimate was a fool’s errand, Zoe told herself.

Still, the woman could kiss like nobody’s business.

“Think breakfast will be as good as dinner was?” Zoe asked, forcing a change of subject.

“As long as it’s not dry biscuits and stale water, it has to be,” Beachy said with a lilting laugh that struck a chord with Zoe. With all they’d been through together in the past few days, Beachy’s preternaturally cheery disposition never failed to impress her. She felt lucky to be paired with her but was wary of catching feelings, too. So many conflicting thoughts to deal with, she thought.
