Chapter 13

Rebekah was eager to get to the second day of the Easter egg hunt when she woke up the next morning. She woke RJ and they hurried to Mouse's house to meet him.

Once they were all walking toward the park, Rebekah glanced over at Mouse's sullen expression.

"Grounded?" she asked with a raised eyebrow.

"No good deed goes unpunished," he replied with a heavy sigh.

"Well you did kind of cheat," RJ reminded him. "I wouldn't call that good."

"But did you see Emmy's face?" Mouse asked with a grin. "It was worth it."

They were the first ones to reach the park. They walked over to the shed to make sure it was still locked and that the cut in the shed was still repaired. When Rebekah poked her head around the side of the shed she let out a wail of surprise.

"Rebekah, what's wrong?" RJ asked as he jumped to her side. Mouse jumped to the other side of her, and both were ready to attack whatever beast she had stumbled upon. Instead of a beast, they saw a four foot tall metal Easter bunny staring back at them.

"Oh Kyle must have made it!" Rebekah gushed as she looked at the shiny bunny. "It's wonderful."

"It really is," Mouse said with awe. "I don't think I could ever make something like that."

"Well maybe if you weren't so busy chasing Easter egg mice," RJ suggested with a wink to Rebekah.

"Even though we still have a chance at those prizes, I really think this is the best prize of all," Rebekah said with a smile. Mouse and RJ agreed.

"I just hope that aliens don't zap it and make it come to life," Mouse started rambling.

"Oh Mouse," both Rebekah and RJ said at the same time.

"What? It could happen!" Mouse insisted as he followed after them.
