SUDDENLY, I'M TAKEN into the past where everything was simple and nothing was wrong. It's the first week of my freshman year of college. Everything's perfect, more so than I thought it would be. I just met my new college roommate named Andrew, and he's freaking hot. Heck, hot doesn't even describe him. He's a cute, manly beast.
His messy brown hair, his emerald green eyes, and his black eyeglasses. The look on his face looks like he's about to protect a soccer net from a goal, which is one of the sports he loves the most, along with hockey. I'll never forget the moment he had me help him unpack his things, mainly the part where I unpacked his suitcase and put away all of his clothing.
That's when I became hooked on him; looking at every one of his sports jerseys that he brought got me quickly addictedâthe Chicago Blackhawks, the Cubs, FC Bayern München, and so much more. I never liked any of those teams, let alone any of those sports, but I do now. All because he loves them, and I love him.
I'll always savor the times we would watch the Blackhawks play. I would pull up my office chair and sit next to him, and we would watch the games on the TV on his desk. That was the best times; nothing could ever replace it. He never knew I had a crush on him at the time, or at least he never mentioned anything.
I'm surprised he never said anything; it's as apparent as nails on a chalkboard. I went from obviously loving nothing but Marvel and DC comics to loving nothing but sports, especially the school's team that was rivals with my high school. Yeah, that's right. I even changed my favorite high school sporting team because of him. I went from being a hardcore Southwest Trojans fan to being an even more hardcore fan of the Preble Poseidon's. He must be delusional if he couldn't see the change in the mirror.
To go back to the game, they're playing against the Minnesota Wild, and they just went into intermission. There's nothing but commercials of who knows what on, so he turns down the volume and picks up his electric guitar. Yeah, that's right. He plays the electric guitar, and he's damn good at it. I've never had any interest in playing the electric guitar until I watched him play for the very first time, then I decided to buy a cheap beginner set from Amazon, which conveniently had to match the same black and white color scheme of his. Not to mention, I had to spend an extra $20 to get one that matched his colors.
Seeing him hold his guitar in his hands with it resting on his thighs is just another thing to love about him. Itâs just a simple black and white guitar, and heâs just a nerdy college dude. Why is he so unique to me? I just donât fucking get it, and Iâll never get it.
