Killian searched the cells, some containing skeletons while others contained broken men who were barely alive. He searched the labyrinth of corridors until he found someone who looked a similar age to Serena. He sat in a cell opposite one that held an older gentleman.

“Samuel?” He called, watching the prisoner lift his head to look at him confused. His dark curly hair was covered in blood and his body was battered. He noticed the older man watching also.

“Who’s asking?” He queried, unaware as to who the stranger was.

“A friend of your sister.”

Samuel and the older gentleman stood up while Killian placed his hand on the bars. He tried to pull them apart but the bars started to heat up and burn his hands. Releasing them, Killian looked around for something to use.

“Declamo the keeper, is the key to the cells. No one else can open them,” Thomas spoke. Killian turned to face him.

“What is he exactly?” Killian felt a dark presence behind him, he looked at the old man who started stepping backwards while looking over Killian's shoulder. Killian slowly turned around to meet a set of glossy black eyes, so dark he could see his own reflection in them.

Shit!

Killian knew what he was from his black eyes. Dragon fairies were very powerful and were well known for serving the Devil himself and his descendants. The next thing he knew, he had been thrown down the corridor at great speed, hitting the wall and shaking the building. Killian recovered and walked back down.

“Let’s make a deal?” Killian offered, but Declamo stood there, his suit of scales beginning to glow as black smoke surrounded him. Killian lost him through the black fog. He kept looking forward until he saw two large black eyes with orange irises creeping forward through it. The smoke started to dissipate, revealing a large long black dragon, its body miles long with large black scales with lava tips, each one the size of Killian's head. Huge claws scratched the floor as they moved forward towards him, a long black tail whipping around behind him. Killian tried to use magic to create metal spikes but when he launched them towards the dragon, they turned red like magma and melted before they could even touch him. Killian ran trying to escape the dragon's fire breath. He ran around the maze of corridors and ended up back near Samuel and Thomas.

“Bring the dragon here,” Thomas yelled. Killian didn’t need to do anything as the dragon scowled forward growling at him and showing him his sharp giant teeth. As soon as the dragon reached past the gentleman’s cell, the man reached out and touched the side of its belly. The dragon froze in time while everything else still moved around him. Killian and Samuel watched in amazement.

“I can’t hold him for long, stab him in the chest,” Thomas said as he struggled to stand, the power he was using draining him. With haste, Killian created a metal spike with his magic and plunged it into where he thought the dragon's heart would be.
