GARDEN GREEN

"Come on honey. Let's put the tools away and we can try out the new pool." Robin wiped the perspiration out of her eyes and took a gulp of water from the bottle she had resting in the tiny cooler on the la in the garage. God it was hot.

She surveyed the job they had done in the yard and smiled. They planted roses in the flower beds in the front and back yards, the front and back yards were edged and mowed. She wanted more than anything to be alone with her man for some quality time. Naked quality time. Heat rippled under her skin as she recognized a flush of desire she hadn't had time for in months.

Connor wound the orange extension hose around the reel and grinned, his chiseled face shiny with yard grime and sweat. Black hair peppered with gray, his piercing blue eyes missed nothing. As if he could read her thoughts, he gave her a smirk. "You got it. First, help me get some of these tools in the garage."

His muscular arms shone bronze in the soft golden light of the afternoon and Robin felt a twinge of heat between her thighs. Watching him wield the weed whacker earlier reminded her what she missed about their time together these past few weeks. It was easy to lost in routine, especially after being married for so long. That and his travel schedule. She sighed, thinking about when they had moved into the house ten years ago and how time had flown. She had a little extra around the middle these days, but Connor had stayed fit. He carried himself with a powerful stride that made women on her street drool when he was out front edging or tending the beds. Robin couldn’t blame them. She was prone to it herself.

Connor’s muscles rippling under the gray tee shirt quickened her pulse and sent her reeling. Even after all these years, he still had the body to make her melt where she stood. And not just from the Texas heat, she thought, bemused. They hadn't had an afternoon alone like this in a long time. Her crazy work schedule was so up and down and he had been traveling for work so often now, they might as well be strangers passing in the night. What they did make time for when they were together was their yard and the garden. Some couples went bowling. They tended to the weeds. And then each other.

She reached into the tiny cooler they kept outside and pulled out a water for him, tugging her yard hat back over her head. "Here."

"Thanks." His smile was wide, his teeth strikingly white against his tanned face. He held the bottle up to his forehead and sighed, letting the sweat from the bottle cool his skin. After a moment, he uncapped the lid and guzzled it noisily, draining it and smacking his lips in appreciation. "Wow. I needed that."

"Anytime." She took the empty bottle
