Chapter 15

Raheem prepared dinner.

Shrimp, Fried Chicken Tenders, Baked Potatoes and Corn- finished with a fresh garden salad and Stella Rose Red Moscato. He walked around his large kitchen with the expertise of a chef; his apron is covering his lower half from spills while the sleeves of his white button-down was rolled up his arm. He was in another one of his elements, he enjoyed cooking. While locked up, he picked up the habit of reading cookbooks; finding them intriguing enough to help him pass the time. Now, when he was stressed or needed relief that a good run could not give him, he cooked. Feast, far too much for just him to finish so most of the time he had his two friends over to take the meal down with him. Between the three of them and their significant others, everything was gone by the end of those nights. He didn't entertain at his home outside of that and Eryanna would be the first person besides his friends and women to see the inside of his place. Raheem felt a small level of anxiety at that fact but he would not allow that to deter him from his mission. He had laid things out for her, made his intent clear, now it was time to set in place rules that would keep them both safe.

Eryanna.

The thought of her made his blood rush through his veins. She had him in limbo, torn between what he craved and what he knew was not good for him. Eryanna was a threat to his entire system, everything that he put in place to protect himself. Since Serenity, he was careful about the way he handled his sexual affairs. He never wanted to place himself in a position of embarrassment and desperation again, never wanted to be vulnerable to another woman. But, he could feel Eryanna slipping into a position of control in his life, he had to fix that and there was only one way for him to do that. He had to regain control. He had never been so reckless when it came to his office and never again mixing his business with his pleasure had always been a top priority of his. But with Eryanna, every line and rule he put it the place was blurred. Yesterday at the office, his plan was to perform an exam on her to both establish her sexual status as well as her possibility of fertility. He knew that she could have children, but he didn't know if she were on some form of birth control. He wanted a child. Soon. Actually, as soon as possible and he wanted that child with her. He just...didn't want the things that seemed to come along with having a child with someone. He wanted things that he knew would require patience on both his part and hers but he was willing. Willing to do whatever was needed to make sure she was comfortable with the arrangement that he would ask of her.
