Customizing Widgets

You can customize your widgets color, fonts, borders, size, relief settings and even the type of cursor it will use. Although we won’t go into how to do all of these, if you are aware of them, you will know what can be done in Tkinter. Once you know what Tkinter can do you can look at the documentation to see how to do it. It is just a matter of looking up the syntax for the code you need and practice applying it.

In the examples given above, the code was kept as simple as possible for easier understanding. Generally, you will create a widget class for your widget. Let’s take a look at how to do that. Don’t worry if you don’t understand all the code at this point. You will when you get to later lessons. For now, we are just taking a brief tour to see what can be done with Tkinter.
