“Welcome to, We Got It Furniture Warehouse. Where anything you want you know we got it.”

“We are looking for a king size mattress only, we have a box spring already and we also need a kitchen table that seats six.” I spoke up and told the salesperson.

“Aww you guys have a large family. That’s wonderful. I’ve always wanted that, but my Johnny died before we had a chance to have kids.”

“I’m sorry to hear that,” Reno sympathized.

“No need to be sorry. He was an evil man. Where he’s at now, is the best place for him. If he wouldn’t have gone on to glory naturally then I would have had to kill him myself. My name is Mildred. Just holler if you need me.” She walked off as if she didn’t just admit to wanting to kill her husband.

“Do we look like a happy couple?” Reno asked me.

“According to Mildred, you are my baby daddy and I ain’t complaining about that shit at all cause they gone be cute. So, what’s up baby, take me out to dinna.”

“I got you as soon as we leave here, I need you to feed me.” Tugging at the hairs on his chin, I pulled his lips towards mine to kiss him before walking towards the beds.

“For a person not to be that into me and claiming they don’t give a damn about a relationship with me and only want dick, you sure are extra kissy.”

Looking back over my shoulder, I smiled but didn’t reply to what he said. Who knows, this fuck love, just fuck me, love; could be something I’m forcing on myself to prepare me for another heartbreak. If I don’t put my feelings in it or don’t be quick to show them, then if things do go wrong, I’ll be able to save face and keep it pushing.

After laying on six mattresses, we finally decided on one, along with a nice ass kitchen table. Loading it up, we pulled off and headed back to the house.

“You looked real cozy in there picking out furniture.” Reno glanced over at me then put his eyes back on the road.

“What can I say, it just felt right.” Aht aht, dial the feelings back homegirl. “I’m not trying to think too deep into that feeling though. It’s just something I’ve always wanted to do. The house I have, I did everything on my own. Alex didn’t go with me to find a thing and I’ve always wanted to be with someone who gave a fuck about the little things just as well as I do.

“He would give me some money to handle things and pretend like he’s just so busy with work that he didn’t have the time. Work was always his excuse and eventually I just stopped asking and became content until I wasn’t and needed answers to his absence.”

“Maybe one day you’ll be able to redo the entire home to your liken or we can just buy a new house.”
