I hardly know where to begin with a story this twisted. Was Sarah really so desperate that she would just offer another woman to her husband? Could she not see how impossibly awkward this situation would become, especially if things went according to plan and Hagar got pregnant? Did she really believe that God needed her help making his promise come true? Whatever she was thinking, it backfired:
