âWhat the fuck was that about?" Gabriel hissed as I walked into the room set aside for me to get ready. Without warning, he slammed me against the wall. Immediately, my hackles rose, and I pushed him back.
"You really want to fight on my wedding day, little brother?" I taunted. Gabriel lurched forward and slammed a fist into my gut. A gasp fell out of my mouth, and I gritted my teeth at the pain.
Deciding I'd had enough, I put a fist in his gut and then threw him to the ground before putting my shoe on his throat and pressing downâ¦hard.
Gabriel was a force to be reckoned with, but he'd never had anything on Raphael and me when it came to fighting.
"I feel like I've been having this conversation a lot with you lately, Gabriel. You want to tell me what you're so upset about?" I pressed down harder with my foot to put more pressure on his throat so it would begin to hurt, and he would get the message that I wasnât going to be messed with todayâ¦and then I stepped back.
I crossed my arms in front of me and stared down at him, still very much aware of Raphael to the left of me who was leaning against the wall, his face perfectly blank. I never knew what that psychopath was going to do. He shouldnât be upset about the ceremony though. I would have thought heâd be impressed at my loss of control. It seemed like he could barely stand Dahlia and marrying someone in a dress soaked with the blood of a fresh kill was something I would've put money on him doing rather than anyone else.
"How could you fucking do that to Dahlia? Do you have any idea what a mess you've made? Our men were literally having to pat every guest down and destroy everyone's phone that they found."
"I got that all taken care of already," I said with a yawn, bored with the conversation.
Gabriel threw up his hands in disgust. "Whose blood was that? What the hell happened in there? What made you lose your mind?"
"I walked in on Dahlia kissing another man," I said through gritted teeth.
Gabriel stiffened and betrayal bleached through his features. I grimaced at the sight. I needed to have my assistant line up a new round of girls that he could get interested in. This obsession with Dahlia had been going on far too long.
"She was kissing another man?"
I turned towards Raphael, confused about the malice in his voice. I waved my hand in the air. âIt was an ex-boyfriend or something. I don't think that she kissed him. I think he was forcing himself on her, and when I walked in and saw it, I just lost my head. I stabbed the motherfucker without asking any questions, and the blood happened to get all of her dress. Everything else is kind of a blur after that,â I said with a careless shrug that intentionally left out that moment when I was frozen in the doorway and sheâd fucking looked right into my soul.
