Theology is no longer in the business of dwelling in its own dominant discourse. Instead, Winquist explains:The tactical use of theological strategies is not unlike what Michel de Certeau calls the tactics of consumption in the practice of everyday lifeâ¦. Since theologians do not have a proper place in the dominant culture they, like other marginalized consumers, must rent their space. They must insinuate their differences into the dominant text. Theological strategies are efficacious to the extent that they can be tactically insinuated into existing textual practices. Tactics exploit the discursive and nondiscursive spacing in the dominant discourse. A minor literature is generated inside and alongside of the dominant discourse, metonymically pressuring its continual formation.53
