These provisions are straightforward, to be sure, but your board will profit from a discussion of its proper relationship to non-CEO staff. Note that this policy does not prohibit contact and interaction but does require the board to avoid even informally instructing or evaluating these staff. Can you see the usefulness to all board members of clarifying these issues?

ASSIGNMENT: Discuss and decide whether the parts of this Level Three policy can stand alone (being sure to think of any policy as including all levels thus far) or need further definition. If you desire more definition than provided in Level Three, consider language even more detailed as you go on your own into Level Four policies or beyond.
