Yuma's eyes blinked open, and she gradually returned to consciousness. The first sensation that hit her was an intense burning ache that seemed to have taken hold of her entire body. Her throat felt raw, her jaw stiff and sore, and she was acutely aware of every tender and sore spot. Letting out a feeble groan, she found it a struggle to move, barely able to keep her eyes open. However, as she fought to stay awake, her familiar bedroom ceiling slowly came into view.

"Hurry!" came Reina's urgent voice, piercing the room. "I can't hold him much longer."

Yuma shifted her gaze to find the striking red-haired concubine pinning Attos to the floor. The young man put up a frantic struggle, his nails scraping against the floorboards.

"Yumiko!" Attos cried out desperately. "You need to wake up!"

Reina held Attos' shoulders to the floor, her knees on his arms and her legs pressing down on the sides of his face.

"Why's it taking so long!" Reina screeched. "Just fuck her up already!"

"I'm trying," snapped a deep male voice. "I keep telling you that I'm not good with mind control."

Yuma looked up to see a young man dressed in black hovering above her, palms glowing with a faint blue light as he moved them around her head in a strange pattern. His pale face was covered in several black tattoos.

"Shit," he hissed. "She's waking up!"

Yuma abruptly sat up, shoving him away as throbbing pain raced through her skull.

"What the hell is going on here?" she yelled, wincing as her voice cracked.

"Fuck," Reina hissed, letting go of Attos to pounce on Yuma, holding her down as Yuma struggled against her grip.

"Hurry up, Moros!" Reina snapped.

Moros cursed and started chanting again, his palms glowing bright blue as he placed them on either side of Yuma's head.

"This might hurt a bit," he warned.

"No!" Attos shouted, struggling to his feet.

"Go!" Yuma shouted. "Go get help!"

Attos looked torn for a moment like he wanted to stay, but he nodded and quickly fled out of the room.

"Hurry up!" Reina snapped. "We don't have much time."

Moros' eyes rolled back into his skull, his mouth moving with incantations.

Yuma writhed and screamed, feeling her soul being ripped apart.

"Stop!" Yuma begged, thrashing against Reina's grip. "You're hurting me."

"Shut up!" Reina spat. "I can't believe that he chose you! It was supposed to be me!"

"Please stop!" Yuma begged.

"You're pathetic!" Reina screamed, digging her nails into Yuma's skin. "It was supposed to be me! ME!"

Reina's eyes were filled with hatred, as her body trembled with rage.

"Why?" Yuma cried, tears streaming down her face. "Why are you doing this?"

"Because!" Reina roared. "Because it's not fair!"

"What?"

"You don't deserve him!"

"I..."

"I love him!" Reina cried. "He told me that I was special! He said that I was his favorite!"

Reina's face twisted in fury, her hands reaching out and closing around Yuma's throat.

Yuma gasped and struggled against the pressure on her windpipe, her vision blurring as the air was squeezed from her lungs.

"It's not fair," Reina sobbed. "I did everything for him! And he still chose you!"

Yuma choked, her eyes rolling back in her head.
