Running a python script in IDLE

The python script comes in handy for you because it allows you to have a whole file of python statements ready which you can run at convenience. With this, you don’t need to stress yourself typing each python statement whenever you are required to run a program. There are two ways of running a python script; either runs a script from the python interactive shell or from the IDLE. Let us say you want to run a file called names.py in IDLE. You will begin by opening IDLE in the main interactive mode by pressing Ctrl + O or select and open the file menu. Once the opening window shows up, scroll to the location of the file you want to run (in this case, the names.py is stored in the directory /home/pi/py3prog. Select the script by tapping on it and then choose open to have access to the file.
