It is announced by the PTA that a Thanksgiving square dance will be arranged by them for the sixth grade. Since Nancy’s mother is on the managing committee, she knows all about the dance.

The girls from PTS want to dance with Philip Leroy, the boy at the top of their Boy Books.

For the following few weeks, instead of physical fitness exercises in the gym, they take square dancing lessons. Mr. Benedict shows them the steps. He uses Laura Danker as his partner. The students look at each other when Mr. Benedict and Laura Danker dance. They have decorated the gym and there is an actual square dance caller in the gym.
