One of my favorite Bible verses, which really encourages me, is Romans 8:28: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

I want you to explore God’s Word for yourself, so you can go forward with confidence in whatever God has in store for you. God will bless you if you trust Him and put Him first. If you don’t believe me, put it to the test. Act on faith, believe God’s promises, and take note of the results when you are faithful. When giving to the Lord, God told us to test Him here. He is storing up our treasures in heaven and He wants to multiply our good gifts for His glory.

Of course, there will be setbacks on our journey. There will be days when you wonder, What am I trying to do here? Maybe God hasn’t called me to do this! I’m just going to hole up in my room and read other people’s Instagram posts.

These valleys will pass. I promise. Experiencing trials is part of our growth. We are not in our final, perfect home yet, so we cannot expect earth to be heaven.

God has called you here in this place and time for a specific purpose, and I want you to know you are valuable, beautiful, and so loved by Him. He loves us to the ends of the universe and back. He only wants what is best for you and so do I.

But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven … For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

MATTHEW 6:20–21

We are all created with our unique personalities, natural talents, and special purposes in life. Just like the Bible mentions in 1 Corinthians 12:4–6, “There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.” The Bible mentions how each of us are needed for God’s kingdom on earth, and that each of us are to encourage and lift up one another using our special gifts! Here are some ways that you can use your gifts to make the world around you a better place and demonstrate Christ’s love to others.

• Volunteer at a local homeless shelter. You can also witness to them about Jesus while you’re there. And who knows? You might save someone because of your kindness and generosity.

• Donate canned goods to your church during the holidays. Often Thanksgiving is a great time to get involved, as pantries are accepting donations for families who need help with their meals.

• Pack Christmas gifts for children without families. Your gift will really make the recipients feel special and loved.

• Send heartfelt letters to soldiers living abroad. Your letter will bring encouragement to them when they need it most.

• Donate old clothes to the Salvation Army.
