View Controller - viewWillAppear

TabViewController - didSelect tabViewItem

View Controller - viewDidAppear

To get data ready for displaying in the view controller when a tab view item is selected, you should pass data in the willSelect tabViewItem method. And if data needs to be manipulated in the view controller before it's displayed, you should use the viewWillAppear event in the target view controller.
