Chapter 3

"Oh Fuck!"

Maze frowned, wiping the tears from her eyes. The newest knight to try to come rescue her was slowly standing up, brushing dirt from her knees and ass. An ass that had just been eaten by the dragon. Over and over she had watched this same scene. A knight would arrive, fuck the dragon, and then get eaten. Over and over again. No one ever even made it close enough to say hi. She watched the red-haired dragon, sure that at any moment she would change, snatch the knight up for a snack, and fly off.

Anytime now.

Her frown deepened as she watched the pair. They seemed to be talking and pointing in the direction of her house. Then, to her complete shock, they both started walking towards her.

"Hey!' She cupped her hands around her mouth, screaming at the top of her lungs. "Help me! Hey! Hey!"

"Stop screaming!" The knight called.

"We can hear you - idiot!" The dragon had never been fond of Maze as anything more than bait.

In a huff, Maze snapped her mouth shut and stood at the door, tapping her foot. She didn't know what the knight had said to avoid being eaten, but it didn't really matter. It was clear that she was not going to be saved from her curse today.

"You're the princess?" The Lora looked the girl up and down as she neared, wondering why she was continuing to stand naked in her doorway. Not that she had any room to think poorly of the girl. She was now also naked, with her armor laying in shreds in the dirt behind her.

"You're a smart one." Maze smirked, doubly irritated. "If you're here to rescue me, don't bother. You won't be able to break my curse."

Lora and the dragon exchanged glances. But it was the beast that spoke. "Why not?"

Maze glared at her, meeting the creature’s red eyes stare for stare. "As if you don't know. I know the witch sent you here to guard me. To make sure that no man ever made it to my door."

"I assure you princess." Nesta emphasized the word so that it sounded more insult than title. "That I have no idea what you are talking about. Your witch invaded my territory, dropped you here, and left. No gold, no contracts. I assume she meant to pay in meat, which I guess she has." She shrugged. She had also thought of the parade of knights as more of an unintended benefit, but maybe they were payment for watching over the girl. "So no, I don't know anything about your curse."

"Care to enlighten us?" Lora crossed her arms over her chest, inadvertently pushing her cleavage up. She dropped them back down to her sides almost immediately as she noticed the Princess's rapt gaze. "I didn't go through three horses and a dragon just to leave without story time."

It took more effort than Maze was willing to admit, pulling her eyes off of the knight’s ample chest and back up to her face.
