You can also view the conversion rate for users who start their sessions on each landing page by switching from usage metrics to goals. Depending on how users get to the page and what goals they bring to the website, a low conversion rate may be an indicator of a problem (whereas on other pages like the homepage, it just means that a variety of users with different goals and interests land on the page).

For many websites, the homepage will be, by far, the most popular landing page. On the other hand, if you have a website that’s well optimized for search engines or of which the business is to serve users who return frequently to some other page like a login page, then your homepage may appear further down the list of most popular landing pages.

The best use of this report, besides simply understanding the diversity of experiences users may have on your website, is if you have time and resources to improve the landing pages on your website and want to know what to prioritize. Finding out how many users land on a page can give you a sense of what to prioritize, whereas low pages per visit, average visit duration, or conversion rate or high bounce rate indicate that pages have potential problems.
